11:30 pm – 12:00 noon - Kid U Drop Off

12:00 pm – 1:00 pm - Keynote Speaker (1 hour, .1 CEUs)

  • “How PTs and OTs Have Changed My Life”
    Luke Murphy – Wounded Army Serviceman
    Luke led a three-­man fire team during the 2003 invasion of Iraq and returned to Iraq for a second tour of duty in 2005. Shortly before completing this second tour, he was catastrophically wounded by an IED which resulted in the loss of his right leg above the knee as well as seriously mangling his left leg. Luke was awarded several commendations including the coveted Purple Heart. He spent his last year as an active duty soldier at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Luke has undergone 32 surgeries and extensive physical therapy since being wounded in 2005. SSG Murphy was medically retired after 7-­-1/2 years of service to his country. As part of his rehabilitation, he began competing in marathons, traveling across the globe with the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans. He was also recruited to serve on the National Campaign Team for the Wounded Warrior Project.

  • Upper Extremity: Biomechanics/Anatomy Lab
    Instructed by Todd Bourgeois PT, DPT, OCS, MTC, FAAOMPT
    Cadaver review of the neuromusculoskeletal anatomy of the upper limb. Participants are free to review areas of the upper extremity that are clinically pertinent to them. Instructor will be available to describe the anatomy, and discuss the biomechanical and clinical issues.

  • The Power of Planning (CEUs not available for this session)
    Presenter: Kenneth Tucker | Financial Advisor | First Command Financial Services, Inc.

    This presentation highlights the importance of practicing productive financial behaviors and the value of setting goals. You’ll learn how adopting the right financial behaviors can put you on the path to financial security!

3:15 pm – 5:15 pm - Breakout Session 2 (2 hours, .2 CEUs) Select One:

  • Lower Extremity: Biomechanics/Anatomy Lab
    Instructed by Todd Bourgeois PT, DPT, OCS, MTC, FAAOMPT
    Cadaver review of the neuromusculoskeletal anatomy of the lower limb. Participants are free to review areas of the lower extremity that are clinically pertinent to them. Instructor will be available to describe the anatomy, and discuss the biomechanical and clinical issues.

  • Neuroanatomy Review/Dry Lab
    Instructed by Erica Kiernan, PT, DPT, OTR/L
    Basic hands on review of the neuroanatomy of the brain and spinal cord. Participants will be guided through the major areas of the cerebral cortex, brainstem, cerebellum, and spinal cord with anatomical models and lab specimens.

  • Wellness & Quality Of Life: Every Patient, Any Setting, All the Time!
    Instructed by Lisa A. Chase, PhD, PT, CEEAA & Megann Schooley, PT, DPT, MTC, CSCS, CEEAA
    This session will investigate Wellness and Quality of Life (QOL) in the US and use those demographics to provide impetus for Wellness and QOL interventions in clinical practice, regardless of setting or patient population. It will provide an opportunity for professionals to collaborate on ways to overcome obstacles/barriers to integrating Wellness into clinical practice. Additionally, it will address reversing the Slippery Slope of diminished QOL and offer tangible tools useful to today’s practicing clinician.

5:15 pm – 7:00 pm - Reception in Heritage LoungeTake this opportunity to enjoy and relax with classmates and catch up with faculty and staff.

11:30 am – 7:00 pm - Kid U (fun, complimentary kids program with crafts, games and snacks
