Ms. Edwards received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of California at San Francisco, a Masters of Business Administration from the Executive Management School of Business and a Master of Arts in Exercise Physiology from San Diego State University.
Ms. Edwards has been a practicing physical therapist for over 30 years. She has clinical experience in a variety of settings: acute, ambulatory, rehabilitation, home health, psychiatric, school and private practice with pediatric, geriatric, orthopedic and neurology patient populations. She also has experience in health care management and service operations. She continues to practice in pediatrics and consults in the evaluation and selection of assistive technology and power mobility systems for persons with Developmental Disabilities across the lifespan.
She has developed practice based clinical education programs for physical and occupational therapists and has served as a Clinical Instructor in many settings. She has taught as adjunct faculty in physical therapy and business departments at San Diego Mesa College, Chapman University and the University of San Diego. At the University of St. Augustine at San Diego, she is the Director of Clinical Education and will be teaching the Practicum I and II courses.
She has been active in national, state and local APTA activities serving as a California delegate to APTA House of Delegates and as LAMP Coordinator, on Program Committee and Board of Directors for the Section on Health Policy and Administration. She is a member of the Education, Pediatric, Orthopedic and Health Policy and Administrations Sections.
