Patricia Marvin

Patricia Marvin joined the Occupational Therapy Department at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2001. She currently teaches Gerontology for both occupational and physical therapy students both in-house and online. This is an area of great love and she has many years of clinical work with this population. Dr. Marvin also teaches Psychosocial Occupational Therapy and organizes Mock Clinic experiences for the OT students with this treatment focus. Finally, Dr. Marvin teaches in the wellness program and oversees the sections on global and cultural health as well as complementary and alternative medicines.

Dr. Marvin received her BS in occupational therapy from the University of North Dakota and her MA in Adult and Community Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. More recently she completed her transitional OTD at the University of St. Augustine. Dr. Marvin has taught at several universities and has chaired both OTA and OT programs in Pennsylvania. She has also been involved in several professional organizations and held various positions of leadership.

Public services focuses around advisory board memberships in several community organizations centering on aiding children with disabilities, eliminating women’s abuse and helping the homeless. She is a firm believer in volunteer service and often mandates student involvement as a way to give to the less fortunate.
