Educated at the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a PhD in Human Physiology and a minor in gross anatomy, Dr Nwoga has been teaching human physiology, general biology and pathology at the undergraduate and graduate level since the end of his postdoctoral training in I981. The experience includes 9 years of teaching human physiology at the School of Medicine, University of Nigeria as well as in the School of Allied Health and School of Pharmacy at the University of Nigeria. Dr. Nwoga designed and taught for another 9 years all components of a two-semester Human Physiology lecture and laboratory course for the Allied Health Division of the Florida A&M University, Tallahassee. In addition, during the period at the Florida A&M University, he also designed and taught 4 advanced physiology courses for graduate students in the Department of Biology as well as teaches general biology courses. At the same time, he also designed and supervised graduate student research. Being among the pioneer recipients of the State University System Teaching Incentive Award in 1994 provides evidence of successful and effective teaching career.

Since appointment at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 1999, he has been teaching all components of the course in Applied Medical Physiology as well as all components of the course in General Pathology to the students enrolled in the Doctor of Physical and Occupational Therapy program of the University. Dr. Nwoga also teaches the 5th semester research class and coordinates the 7th semester DPT case report. These courses are offered every semester three times a year, every year.

In addition to direct classroom teaching experience, he has been involved in grant writing, scientific research and training of graduate students in research. Evidence of the productivity in this area is seen in over 18 publications in referred journals and numerous abstract and presentations at scientific meetings. He also supervises the work of students in the MHSc and DHSc programs.
