WHEN DO I HAVE TO TAKE THE GRE?
The GRE should be taken shortly after sending in
your application if you have not taken it yet. You
cannot be enrolled in the MHSc program until this
is completed. If you have already taken the GRE's,
these scores are valid up to 5 years after the testing
date.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BE ACCEPTED INTO THE PROGRAM?
WHAT IS REQUIRED WITH THE APPLICATION?
You may apply at any time. We do "rolling enrollments",
which means you may enter the program at any time
of the year. After all required application documents
have arrived at the University, it takes approximately
two (2) weeks for the review process. You will need
to provide a copy of your PT license, resume or
curriculum vita, 3 professional references, official
transcripts and the completed application form.

WHEN CAN I REGISTER FOR HOME STUDY COURSE WORK?
You can enroll as a "non-degree seeking student"
before acceptance as an MHSc student. You can take
up to 6 credit hours before being accepted into
the program. As long as you earn a B grade or better,
these courses will be transferred over to your degree
program after acceptance.

WHAT IS THE TIME FRAME FOR TAKING HOME STUDIES AFTER
TAKING SEMINARS?
We recommend that you take the home studies within
a 2 to 3 year period. After that, you are taking
a chance that the seminar material has been revised.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE THE MHSc PROGRAM?
The MHSc is a five year program. If you wish you
can finish sooner, depending on the number of courses
that you take each year. It is an individually paced
program.

DO I HAVE TO PASS CERTIFICATION BEFORE ENROLLING
IN THE MHSC PROGRAM?
You may take the Certification Examination either
before or after you enter the program.

WHAT IS ACADEMIC RESIDENCY?
There are 2 required academic residencies. These
residences are held in St. Augustine. During this
time you will take the MHSc required courses and
meet with faculty advisors.

DO I HAVE TO ATTEND RESIDENCY AND CAN I DO THIS
WORK ON-LINE?
At the present time we are working on several courses
for on-line delivery. Residency is required as the
special time you are able to meet with faculty and
fellow students as well as completing a block of
required courses only offered at this time. Residency
will continue as part of this degree program, even
as more courses go online.

DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE CERTIFICATION BEFORE ATTENDING
RESIDENCY?
Yes, it is advisable. There are exceptions if you
have completed most of the Certification process
and home studies with a good record.

CAN I TAKE SEMINARS ANYWHERE?
Yes, we have a seminar calendar showing scheduled
seminars throughout the United States. However,
Certification Preparation and Examination week is
only scheduled in St. Augustine 3 or 4 times a year.

WHAT ARE THE COSTS OF THE PROGRAM?
Each seminar and home study is paid for separately.
The fees for the seminars are on the semester calendar.
Academic credit charges are basically $165.00 a
credit hour for courses that include a seminar component.
If there is no seminar involved with the course,
the fee is $385.00 per credit hour. If you need
assistance with tuition, our financial officer will
be able to answer your questions.

IS THERE A TIME FRAME TO COMPLETE THE HOME STUDIES?
Yes, the home studies are scheduled on a semester
basis with a due date at the end of the semester
(at least 14 weeks long). If your assignments are
not completed in that semester, you will get an
incomplete grade for that semester. You must complete
the course satisfactorily before the end of the
next semester or you will receive an "F"
grade.

DO YOU ACCEPT FOREIGN STUDENTS INTO THE PROGRAM?
Yes, please note that you must submit an evaluation
from a recognized agency that provides documentation
showing your educational experiences is equivalent
to the United States bachelor's degree. The TOEFL
written and spoken examination is required if you
are coming from a country where English is not the
primary language.

ARE THE UNIVERSITY AND THE DEGREES ACCREDITED?
We are licensed by the Commission for Independent
Education to offer all of our degree programs. The
University of St. Augustine has a CAPTE accredited
entry level MPT program and an ACOTE accredited
entry level MOT program. The post professional Master
of Health Science and the Doctor of Physical Therapy
programs are accredited by the Distance Education
and Training Council, which is authorized by the
Department of Education to accredit distance education
programs.
