Laura Johnson

Dr. Laura Johnson graduated with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine.  She earned her Manual Therapy Certification from the University of St. Augustine in 2004. Wanting to further her clinical expertise, Dr. Johnson completed the University of St. Augustine Manual Therapy Fellowship Program. In 2006, Dr. Johnson became a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.

Dr. Johnson served as a part-time faculty member at Northern Illinois University teaching in the musculoskeletal physical therapy curriculum.  In 2007, Dr. Johnson decided to combine her love of learning and passion for teaching as a faculty member in the University of St. Augustine's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. 

Dr. Johnson is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of St. Augustine at San Diego. Her teaching responsibilities are in the Musculoskeletal Courses. She continues to practice in an outpatient orthopedic clinic to supplement her teaching, privately servicing a wide range of clients including professional athletes. She is enrolled in a PhD program and her research interests are in the reliability, validity, and effectiveness of manual physical therapy procedures.  Dr. Johnson is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.  She serves on committees for the APTA Education Section and for the CPTA at both the state and chapter levels.
