A one-day seminar on whole spinal stabilization for therapists who seek a means of efficient back, neck & shoulder care - not for the high performance athlete - but for the typical patient who has had their back or neck pain for 3 weeks or more.

Stabilization concepts & methods are a stand alone approach to back management but can be used to enhance treatment by manipulation & extension approaches.

Learning Outcomes:

  • understand what is spinal instability
  • differentiate between muscular & ligamentous instability
  • learn how to prevent instability
  • identify who has instability
  • understand imaging technologies for instability
  • differentiate instability from other dysfunctions
  • learn which patients need posture training, exercise instruction, and/or manipulation
  • practice treating your own instabilities
  • supportive devices & equipment

At the completion of this seminar the attendee should be able to:

  • identify who has instability
  • demonstrate and instruct stabilization to patients
  • progress a patient through their rehabilitation
  • know when extension exercises & manipulation are indicated
  • treat your own back pain

  • workshop manual

  • exercise booklet for patient use
