In late November, volunteers from the Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA) at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences painted a mural in a pediatric therapy room at One on One Therapy in nearby Palatka, Florida. First-term student Kayleigh Quinn drew the mural and the other student volunteers helped paint it.
“The mural helps set a kid friendly setting into the room,” said Kayla McClain, chair of community service for the university’s chapter of SOTA. “It made me realize the importance of helping out when someone is in need. It was truly a memorable experience.”
Student volunteers spent 12 hours over two days making the pediatric therapy room more inviting for children.
