Dr. Karen Gersten has worked in higher education for more than 25 years, beginning her career as a part-time faculty member and eventually earning a tenured faculty position at Roosevelt University in Chicago. She formerly was the associate provost for academic programs and distance learning at Roosevelt University in Chicago, where she pioneered online programs and other innovative teaching and learning approaches and led assessment efforts.
Dr. Gersten joined Laureate Education, Inc. as provost of Kendall College in 2007 and served in that capacity and later as interim president and president. She then joined Laureate’s Academic Quality and Assurance (AQA) unit where she lead assessment efforts and supported accreditation efforts domestically and internationally.
As Senior Vice President for Academic Initiatives at University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, Dr. Gersten leads the areas of Institutional Research, Assessment, Faculty Development, Accreditation and Regulatory, and Academic Online Initiatives.
