Because USAHS is committed to diversity and inclusion across our university, our Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access (IDEA) Committeeย has recently held several town hall meetings to listen and learn from our community of diverse faculty, staff, and students. Inspired by those discussions, the Committee is launching an Expert Exchange Series calledย โCultural Competence in Healthcare Expert Exchange.โ
We are excited to bring you these specially curated faculty talks from members of our esteemed community.ย They are open to allโincluding prospective students, current students, faculty, and staff. These sessions are a unique opportunity to learn from USAHS faculty about how future and current healthcare practitioners can serve underrepresented populations and increase their cultural competency.
Expert Exchanges are approximately one hour long and heldย Tuesdays at 5 p.m. Eastern Time.ย After the presentation, there will be time for questions and moderated discussion. See upcoming sessions below:
With more than 170 core and 460 contributing faculty across five campuses in three states, USAHS is a proud and vast network of healthcare experts who bring decades of clinical experience, abundant scholarly research, and distinctive excellence in graduate-level instruction. IDEA Committee members have been proud to see more than 400 members of the USAHS community participate and commit to be a part of IDEA initiatives.

The charge of IDEA is to facilitate policies, guidelines, and programs that support the University’s commitment to foster a sense of inclusion, growth, and belonging for all members of the USAHS community. The Committee encourages respect for diversity of backgrounds, ideas, and perspectives and deals honestly and constructively with issues of equity and inclusion. The Committee also supports students through diverse clinical learning experiences where they practice cross-cultural sensitivity as they prepare to enter the global workforce.
