University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS) Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) students attended the 64th annual Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association Convention on February 20-22. Students competed against other university programs in the state of Texas in an SLP Praxis Bowl and won. The Jeopardy-like competition involves other Texas SLP graduate schools challenging one another in a knowledge bowl based on potential questions for the Praxis Examination – an integral component of American Speech-Language-Hearing Association certification standards.
It was the first time USAHS students competed and SLP Program Director, Dr. Kathy J. Wheat, PhD., CCC-SLP, was excited to see them do so well.
