At a key transition point in their studies, occupational therapy students across all USAHS campuses participate in a meaningful ritual, witnessed by family and friends. The OT pinning ceremony marks the end of the classroom portion of their studies and the beginning of their fieldwork. For Residential MOT and OTD students, this happens in their fourth term, and for Flex, in the seventh term.

Dr. Crocker has owned integrative wellness centers in three distinct communities as part of her chiropractic/yoga and yoga therapy services over 28 years. She is also an educator, with the mission to promote health at the community level and integrate mind body interventions throughout the healthcare delivery system. She firmly believes that strengthening collaboration in health professions will increase patient outcomes and improve overall health of society. She advocates training healthcare providers in mind-body techniques for their own self-care, and integrating yoga-based therapy as a modality in patient care will lead to social change within the healthcare industry.
Heidi has presented nationally on the integration of yoga in healthcare and interprofessional education in the health professions. She is the chair of Interprofessional Care Model Task Force with CalChiro and an active member of the American Interprofessional Health Collaborative (AIHC).
Heidi serves as the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Pacific States University and teaches in health professions education focusing on community health as a key to lasting change. Currently she is contributing faculty for the College of Health Sciences at University of St. Augustine and the Riley College of Education at Walden University. In addition, she practices chiropractic/yoga therapy in Orange County, CA.
