Keiko Fernandez earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2006 from Columbia University in New York, NY. She worked in both Sports Physical Therapy and Pediatric Physical Therapy while in New York City. Upon returning to her hometown of Miami, Keiko worked as a physical therapist for the Miami City Ballet for four seasons, and coordinated the physical therapy program for the Miami City Ballet School. Since 2014, Keiko has been working for Neurotour, providing on site physical therapy to touring Broadway Productions at the Arsht Center and Broward Center for Performing Arts.
In addition, she has a local private practice in Miami Beach that focuses on performing arts physical therapy, as well as orthopedic and sports physical therapy. She has been an adjunct faculty member at Florida International University since 2012, teaching lectures and labs on Performing Arts PT and alternative approaches to therapeutic exercise (Pilates and Yoga.) Keiko is a registered Yoga Instructor and a certified Pilates Instructor. She teaches Yoga locally and also teaches the Anatomy/Physiology portion of Yoga Teacher Training programs in various schools in Miami.
