Dr. Leiselle Pilgrim is an Assistant Professor at the University of St. Augustine for Health Science’s Miami campus Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Dr. Pilgrim received her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2013 from UMDNJ-SHRP & Rutgers Camden after receiving her Master of Public Health from St. George’s University. She is pursuing her Doctor of Education from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Dr. Pilgrim’s practice was primarily in outpatient orthopedics before she started her own home health practice. Most recently, Dr. Pilgrim became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist and treats part-time within the field.
Dr. Pilgrim has been an active member of the APTA, starting as a student in the NJPTA in 2010 and the FPTA since 2013. She serves on the APTA Nominating Committee, as a FPTA Alternate Delegate, and previously on the APTA’s Early Career Team and NEXT Planning Committee and FPTA Nominating Committee and Board of Directors as the Director of Public Relations. She was honored as an APTA Emerging Leader in October 2020. Dr. Pilgrim is passionate about giving back to the profession as it aims to enhance the human experience through movement.
