The University of St. Augustine will soon be opening a Wellness Center at our Austin, TX Campus.
The mission of the University of St. Augustine’s Wellness Centers is to provide an environment that promotes and facilitates a healthy and productive lifestyle in our students, faculty, staff, and ultimately our clients and local community.
This will be achieved by (a) development of programs that will allow the University philosophy on health and wellness to become a reality and (b) providing a state of the art wellness facility that will include wellness related testing/screening and quality instructions in the various domains of wellness.
Ricky Willis, the Director of Wellness, has even integrated the centers into its curriculum to reflect the value it holds for wellness. The centers enable students to take full advantage of our state-of-the-art fitness facility for use in their academic classes as well as for group projects. Instructors integrate teaching students in the wellness center on equipment setup, program initiation and advancement and modification of exercise based on various diagnoses.
USA is able to utilize the Wellness Centers to provide community outreach classes that provide education and assistance to various populations. Some examples include Parkinson's classes, fitness testing for seniors and fall prevention classes.
Here at the University of St. Augustine, we don’t just teach health, we live it! We offer group classes, equipment orientations and program development.
You tell us your goals and we will give you the tools to achieve them.
