USAHS focuses on providing the best and more appropriate academic and financial aid counseling throughout the admissions process. Whether applying to a first-professional, campus based program or a post-professional distance program, an assigned Enrollment Advisor is available to assist you from application to acceptance.
The University of St. Augustine is looking to enroll candidates who are most likely to succeed in our educational programs.
We serve first-professional (entry-level), transitional and post-professional students in the health sciences fields of physical therapy, occupational therapy, orthopedic assistant, and health sciences education.
The university welcomes applications from all qualified individuals without regard to race, color, religion, gender, marital status, age, and national or ethnic origin. Each applicant is evaluated based on his or her own merits. For first-professional students primary consideration is given to the student’s academic record including grades earned on the required prerequisite coursework, recent academic performance, results on the GRE, and experience in the field in which the student is interested.
Consider these tips when preparing your application
Average GPAs and GRE scores tend to be higher for the Fall term for the full-time DPT, MOT and OTD programs for all campuses.
Take a GRE prep course. This score is another big indicator of your academic strength. Visit ETS for more information about the GRE.
Students accepted to our full-time programs have GPAs that range from 3.3 to 3.7 and GRE scores that average between 295 and 305 (combined V+Q).
Get more experience in the profession. Completing more than the minimum of 80 observation hours in a variety of settings will strengthen your application and give you more insight into your chosen field.
You may be selected for an interview as part of the admission process. The interview is a very important step. It allows both you and our faculty to determine if USAHS is the right institution to help you meet your career goals. During the interview, you will be asked to share your motivation for pursuing a degree at USAHS as well as details about your professional background and experiences.
Retake any prerequisite course(s) you received a “C” in. Your prerequisite GPA is a big indicator of how successful you will be in our program. If you retake a course and receive a higher grade, we will only factor in the higher grade in the GPA we calculate.
FLEX programs students have GPAs that range from 3.2 to 3.5 and GRE scores that range between a 294 and 300 (combined V+Q).

Financial aid is available to help you pay for your graduate education
There are a variety of financial aid tools available to students today, including scholarships, need-based awards, and student loans. Nearly two-thirds of today's college students receive some form of financial aid or assistance programs. Financial aid eligibility is based on two calculations -- the total cost of education and the student’s ability to pay. The cost of education can vary depending on costs for tuition and living expenses.
