Alumni Reunion and Family Weekend

The second annual University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS) Alumni Reunion and Family Weekend will be held Friday, September 27–Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the San Marcos, CA campus. This celebration is intended to bring together USAHS alumni, their families, current and prospective students, faculty, staff and community partners of the University.

All University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS) alumni and their families, plus students, faculty, staff, community and clinical partners are invited to attend the second annual Alumni Reunion and Family Weekend, to be held September 27-28 at the San Marcos, CA campus. Many amazing activities are planned for the weekend, including interprofessional continuing education courses, a barbecue, an alumni/faculty reception and campus fair!

With more than 16,000 graduates in all 50 states and 30 countries, this is sure to be an exciting opportunity to connect in person!

Registration is NOW OPEN, with the total cost for the weekend’s events set at just $75 per family. And, alumni who register by Friday, July 19 can purchase the full weekend package for their family or as an individual for only $50 (savings of $25)! REGISTRATION OPTIONS:

  • Family Weekend package—Alumni can register and bring their whole family for the weekend for a one-time package price of $75 (value of $165). This includes all weekend events, including the Friday night barbecue and Saturday campus fair for everyone, the Saturday night reception (for alum + one guest) and all Saturday continuing education sessions (alumni only).
  • Friday Barbecue—Complimentary to all participants
  • Saturday Continuing Education Sessions—Includes Session I, Session II and lunch; $50 per person a la carte for alumni and clinical partners with appropriate credentials ($140 value!). For alumni who are only attending the Saturday’s CPE sessions, contact alumni@usa@edu for a promo code to receive this rate. Alumni who wish to attend only one CPE session will need to register for that session separately at a cost of $70.
  • Saturday Campus Fair, Campus Tour and Community Impact Activity—Complimentary to all participants
  • Saturday Night Reception—$25 a la carte for each individual (alum / guest); includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine (must be 21 to attend)

Late afternoon/evening

Registration/Check-in; Family Barbecue (All registered attendees)
Weather permitting, tables will be set up outside to register all attendees for the weekend’s events. The first 200 registrants to check in will receive a USAHS ARFW t-shirt with their full weekend registration. Enjoy a festive barbecue celebration with activities for the whole family. USAHS students and employees are invited to attend and join in the fun with alumni.

  • Casual dress code: Informal and comfortable but clean and professional—golf shirt, plain t-shirt (no graphic tees), jeans, khakis, shorts (must be appropriate length and fit), loafers/sneakers

Morning

Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Participant Continental Breakfast and Check-in (Registered faculty and alumni)
Get ready for a morning of learning! Alumni and faculty who have registered for the CPE courses today can grab a cup of coffee/tea with a light bite to eat while they check in.

CPE Session I: Keys to Masterful Communication, presented by Eric Krell, PT, DPT, MTC and Kerri Krell, CEO, Soul Solutions (Registered alumni and faculty; 2 hours, 0.2 CEU)

CPE Session II: Watch a Therapist Get Sued: A Medicolegal IPE Simulation on Therapy Documentation, presented by Associate Professor Maureen Johnson, PhD, MS, OT/L, BCPR, C/NDT, CHSE-A, Associate Professor Norman Cadiz Belleza, PT, DPT, PhD and attorney Nicole Stark; followed by lunch (Registered alumni and faculty; 2 hours, 0.2 CEU)

Early Afternoon

Campus Fair and Community Service Activity (All Attendees)
Join in a community impact activity in which participants will help in the creation of hygiene kits for distribution by local organizations that service the homeless community. Activities will also be led by the USAHS Occupational Therapy program. Student groups, community organizations and local clinics will also be on campus with lots of fun and interactive activities. Plus, take a campus tour, showcasing various learning experiences our occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech-language pathology students take part in, including the Activities for Daily Living and Center for Innovative Clinical Practice. Enjoy onsite food and snack trucks.

Late afternoon

FREE TIME
Take this opportunity to catch up with old friends, visit local sites, head to the beach and take in the California sunshine. We’re working to bring reunion attendees discounts to many area attractions, so stay tuned!

Early evening

Alumni and Faculty/Staff Reception (registered alumni and faculty/staff; Each alum may bring one guest 21 years of age or older)
A shuttle will be provided from the San Marcos campus to this offsite event on a continuous schedule throughout the evening. Enjoy mingling and networking with fellow alumni, faculty and staff at TERI Campus of Life. Heavy appetizers and beverages included. No one under 21, please. Attendees who did not register with the full weekend package option will incur an individual event cost of $25.

  • Dressy Casual dress code: Balance between formal and casual—dress, skirt and dressy top, dressy pants outfit, slacks, casual button-down shirt, open-collar or polo shirt.
