The objective of this blended learning two-day seminar and online webinar is to manage chronic or recurrent mechanical pain in the spine, pelvis and shoulder girdle. Mechanical pain is considered to be primarily related to overload and irritation of nociceptive structures. Non-optimal posture and movement strategies contribute to inappropriate loading by adding compression, shear, and tensile forces on the structures during static and dynamic tasks.

The priority of the management is to correct the positions and movements that cause pain/disability and incorporate optimal strategies into everyday movements. This online and face-to-face seminar will cover examination, diagnosis, classification and correction of movement and motor control impairment in the spine, pelvis and shoulder girdle. The pelvis and shoulder girdle will both be addressed in their connection to spinal pain. Methods for identifying psychosocial factors that may prevent recovery will also be addressed.
