Thinking about a career in OT? Then be sure to join us for our Florida Future OT Conference themed “Occupational Therapy – Empowering Individuals to Empower Communities.” You’ll enjoy an exciting and informative day of workshops, expert and student panels, and networking opportunities, and explore how a career in OT will empower you to make an impact on the lives of others.
The day kicks off early with a keynote presentation by Dr. Kristian Llaca entitled “Innovation in Occupational Therapy – Advancing Client Outcomes.” Dr. Llaca is an Assistant Professor of OT at USAHS’ Miami campus known for his work in acute care, adult rehabilitation, mental health, neurological disorders, spinal cord injuries, TBIs and vision rehabilitation. His keynote will address the use of innovation to push the boundaries of occupational therapy and harnessing technology to advance client outcomes, as well as examine the OT’s role in the changing healthcare landscape.
Throughout the morning, you’ll have the opportunity to attend educational sessions presented by USAHS OT faculty on:
- Empowering Individuals Through Assistive Technology
- Understanding Anatomy Through State-of-the-Art Technology
- Treating Pediatric Clients Through Innovations in OT
At our OT Practitioner Panel and OT Student Panel discussions you’ll have the chance to engage and interact with working and student OTs on an array of topics including working in the field of OT, educational experiences, training, career opportunities and the future of OT.
The OT Graduate School Fair will take place throughout the day, and representatives from USAHS’ College of Rehabilitative Sciences and other Florida-based OT graduate programs will be on hand to provide a host of insights and info about curricula, admissions, scholarships and life as an OT student in Florida.
