A physical therapist, healthcare consultant and instructor, Dr. Warren McAdams integrates his background in psychology to provide a comprehensive approach to healthcare. He joined the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in April 2024.

His leadership as vice chair of the Texas Physical Therapy Association’s Capital Area District and active participation in physical therapy legislative sessions underscores his commitment to the profession’s advancement.

Previously, Dr. McAdams founded Cultivating Empowerment, a healthcare consulting agency dedicated to enhancing therapy practices for physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses and first responders. His focus on delivering high-quality care and education led to the agency’s success, culminating in its sale to an educational entity in March 2024. This transition allowed him to concentrate on his passion for teaching in the university setting.

He is a board-certified clinical specialist in pediatrics, and his experience encompasses care for infants on hospice services, professional athletes and geriatrics at end-of-life.

Dr. McAdams was honored as one of the Top 16 finalists for the 2023 Caregiver of the Year award by the Home Care Association of America, representing nearly 4,500 agencies nationwide. Additionally, he actively contributes as an item writer for the Pediatric Clinical Specialist board exam and serves as a critical appraiser for the development of Clinical Practice Guidelines, playing a vital role in enhancing the profession’s knowledge base and guiding principles.

Dr. McAdams is a probationary firefighter and EMT. His volunteer work with various organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, reflects his dedication to societal well-being. This blend of professional achievement, educational leadership and community service emphasizes his commitment to transforming the landscape of physical therapy and healthcare at large.
