SLP Cultural and Linguistic Diversity Scholarship
USAHS awards this scholarship to one applicant each at the Dallas and Austin campuses in recognition of a high achieving student who demonstrates a commitment to diversity and supporting minority representation in the field of speech-language pathology.
The scholarship funds are applied to tuition and fees only. MS-SLP applicants for the 2024 Spring term at the Dallas and Austin campuses may apply for the Cultural and Linguistic Diversity Scholarship, which is awarded in equal trimester-based increments throughout the program. Deadline to apply is December 1, 2023
Submission Requirements:
- A one-page essay that describes what makes you an ideal candidate for this scholarship based on your intention to provide speech-language services to cultural and linguistically diverse populations in your future clinical practice.*
- Only scholarship applications where a student has started and/or completed their CSDCAS application will be considered.
Scholarship Guidelines:
- Acceptance and sustained enrollment as a full-time student in the MS-SLP program. Scholarships are non-transferable to another degree program or university.
- Remain enrolled each trimester in all courses in the established curricular pathway for the MS-SLP program.
- Course withdrawal will result in scholarship ineligibility for the subsequent trimester.
- Earn a minimum of a 3.5 GPA at the end of each trimester.
- The award may only be applied to tuition and fees.
If the recipient does not meet all of the above requirements, he/she will be ineligible for the scholarship award for the subsequent trimester. The scholarship would be reinstated the following term if the student again meets the requirement.
* Note: Applicants do not have to be from a diverse or minority background to apply for this scholarship
