The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS), a leading graduate institution that emphasizes health and rehabilitative sciences education through innovative classroom education, is proud to announce that more than a dozen faculty members and alumni are running for elected positions—including president—in the Florida Physical Therapy Association (FPTA).
Tomas Eberle, PT, DPT, a core faculty member in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program on the Miami campus is running for president. Eberle has more than 15 years of clinical and higher education experience, and has served on the FPTA Board of Directors for four years.
Several other faculty members are running for leadership positions: Laurie Shimko, PT, is running for vice president; Jackie Crossen-Sills, PT, PhD, is running for director of membership; and Gabriel Somarriba, DPT, is running to be on the nominating committee. Alumna Amy McBreen-Babb is running for director of public relations.
Faculty members are also running for delegate positions: Matt Daugherty, PT, DPT, OTR/L, MOT, OCS; John Leschitz, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT; Ross Marinas, PT, DPT, c/NDT, APTA-CCI; Catherine Patla, PT, DHSc, MS, OCS, MTC, FAAOMPT; and Lindsay Perry, PT, DPT, NCS. Alumni running for delegate include Dan Curtis, Kevin Lulofs-MacPherson, and Arie van Duijin.

Voting by FPTA members begins July 18 and ends August 17.
