Briona Daugherty’s (MS-SLP ’22) speech-language pathology (SLP) path began on board a cruise ship. Daugherty graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in theatrical performance. She studied opera and musical theater, originally wanting to be a touring singer for Broadway-style shows. After spending time as a professional singer in Las Vegas and New York City, she began a career performing on cruise ships, including five years in China, Japan, Korea and Thailand. The longer she worked on cruise ships, the more she aided other vocalists in adjusting to life onboard. University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences is pleased to offer post-professional students, alumni and their guests an opportunity to attend an international educational trip to Italy scheduled for April 6-15, 2019 (April 6th and 15th are travel days).
This immersive experience will survey ancient health delivery methods, comparative health systems, traditional health models, and health economics of this country.
Students interested in attending will receive 3-credit hours toward a course upon the successful completion of the trip and required coursework. The majority of the students will register for IPE 7421 (Interprofessional Approaches to Regional and Global Population Health) for the Spring 2019 term; however, there are some exceptions. Please contact your Academic Advisor to determine which course is appropriate for registration. **The course tuition is not included in the cost of the trip.
