Here at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS) weโ€™re all about helping our students reach their goals with confidence and competence. As the leading graduate school for PT since 1979, we couldnโ€™t be more proud of what our PT students and alumni have achieved and for giving us the opportunity to partner in their success.

Weโ€™re thrilled to announce a host of exciting updates to our industry-leading Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) graduate degree program, integrated into our new program launching Fall 2024. The changes to the DPT curriculum are based on the latest theories on how students absorb and retain information, and include introducing hands-on experiences right from the first trimester. Most significantly, the program features a reduced time to degree completionโ€”meaning you can fast-track your DPT and start your career sooner!

New students starting in Fall 2024 or beyond have two options for earning their DPT: the Flex DPT and the Residential DPT. The Flex DPT can be completed in as little as 9 trimesters (3 years*) and is taken primarily online. A great choice for students with work or family commitments, this pathway offers flexibility with hands-on labs on select weekends allowing you to study from almost anywhere in the U.S. Flex DPT is offered at our San Marcos, California, St. Augustine, Florida, and Austin, Texas, campuses.

The Residential DPT pathway, completed in just 7 trimesters (2.3 years*), is a more traditional campus experience, featuring blended online and in-person classes. Offered at all of our five destination campuses, the Residential DPT is ideal for students living near any of our beautiful campus cities of San Marcos, California, St. Augustine or Miami, Florida, or Austin or Dallas, Texas.

Some of the benefits of a USAHS DPT include:

  • Clinical lab work from day 1
  • Hands-on integrated learning
  • Participate in our PT pro bono clinics
  • Immersive experience rooted in our student-FIRST philosophy
  • Build confidence and competency as a practice-ready PT
  • Develop leadership skills and clinical excellence
  • Learn tomorrowโ€™s technology today
  • Interprofessional practice collaboration
  • Build your network with a community of more than 10,000 PT alumni
