BACKGROUND
Dr. Bruning is Executive Director Orthopedic Service Line for Holy Cross Medical Group and Hospital, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Bruning is a member of the Board of Directors for the American Alliance of Orthopedic Executives (AAOE), and on the Board of Directors for the Athletic Trainers Physician Practice Society (ATPPS). He has worked with orthopedic clinics in administrative roles for over ten years. Prior to moving into full time administration, Dr. Bruning was the head athletic trainer and instructor for health sciences at Gustavus Adolphus College. He has over 25+ years as an athletic trainer working with all levels of athletes. During that time he has been involved with State, Regional, and National athletic training organizations in leadership roles, been active with the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education, and the Board of Certification (BOC).
In 2015 Dr. Bruning was awarded the President’s Award by the AAOE for his dedication and leadership of the Advocacy Council. In 2016 Paul was awarded the Dan Libera Service Award by the BOC. Dr. Bruning remains very active in advocacy and legislative work along with his responsibilities as a C-Level executive.
