Deanne Wayt, MA, CCC-SLP

Deanne Wayt, MA, CCC-SLP is a state-licensed and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association-certified bilingual speech-language pathologist and clinical educator.  She received her bachelor’s degree in French from Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH, and she holds a diploma in French Studies from the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis in Nice, France. Wayt received her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and she has been a practicing clinician since 2007.

After her clinical fellowship, Wayt worked in Santiago, Chile, treating pediatric and adult clients. Since returning to the United States, she has worked with culturally and linguistically diverse pediatric populations in early intervention, clinical and school-based settings. Wayt transitioned to higher education after owning an early intervention private practice, and she most recently worked as a full-time lecturer and the clinic director in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology at California State University, Long Beach.

Wayt is a fluent Spanish speaker, a conversational French speaker, and her professional areas of interest include reflective supervision, routines-based caregiver coaching, culturally and linguistically responsive practice, and neurodiversity-affirming services. She joined the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2025.
