Dr. Cassidy received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2008 from Gannon University in Erie, PA. She became a Board Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist in 2017. She was previously the Facility Director at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Rehabilitation Institute (formerly Centers for Rehab Services) Balance and Vestibular Clinic at UPMC Eye and Ear Institute. She was a coordinator for a Quality Improvement project to decrease the time of care from presentation in the Emergency Department with acute dizziness to being treated in outpatient physical therapy for UPMC. In addition to treating patients with vestibular/neurological diagnoses full time, she was previously the co-coordinator of EpicCare education for the Centers for Rehab Services organizing the training of electronic health record documentation within the company and is a staff physical therapist at the UPMC Critical Illness Recovery Center. Dr. Cassidy was appointed to the role of Adjunct Faculty for the University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in the Department of Physical Therapy in 2021 and promoted to Adjunct Associate Professor in 2023. During her time at University of Pittsburgh, she has been a member of the coordinating team for the Advanced Vestibular Physical Therapist Certification Course developed by the coordinating team to provide advanced training for physical therapists around the world specializing in vestibular rehabilitation. She is currently working on her Doctor of Philosophy in Health Sciences with a concentration in Healthcare Professions Education at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions.
