Dr. Vanessa Duran earned her Bachelor of the Arts in Neuroscience with a minor in medical humanities from Earlham College. She attended the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and obtained her Doctor of Occupational Therapy.
She is a licensed and registered occupational therapist with expertise in orthopedic rehab, focusing on physical disabilities related to the upper extremity and neurologic conditions. She holds an Advanced Practice certification in hand therapy and physical agent modalities in California.
She joined the University of St. Auguste for Health Sciences as contributing faculty prior to becoming full-time faculty. Her clinical and scholarly interests include culturally responsive care, pain neuroscience, and the integration of authentic, case-based learning to enhance clinical reasoning in occupational therapy students.
