With a specialty in geriatrics, Dr. Mathews is dedicated to preparing students for clinical practice by fostering critical thinking and creating safe learning environments.

Dr. Jim Mathews has more than 20 years of experience in acute care, long-term acute care, skilled nursing facility and outpatient settings, and more than 10 years of full-time experience teaching and administrating for the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences Doctor of Physical Therapy programs.
He has a doctorate in philosophy from Walden University and earned his Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy from AT Still University. In addition, he obtained a Master of Business Administration from San Diego State University. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Dr. Mathews is committed to fostering critical thinking through safe workspaces and presenting challenging situations to prepare students for clinical practice.
