Ready for total immersion in a rigorous PT program? The Residential DPT format offers a blend of didactic courses and in-person labs designed to maximize your learning and retention. With three start dates per year (September, January, and May), you can begin the Residential DPT program in Florida when you’re ready. In less than three years on physical therapy residency program,* you’ll walk away with a degree from a renowned institution and the skills to launch a stellar career.

Flex DPT: Transition into Your Career

Earn your degree at your own pace with USAHS’ Flex format. A great option for those who are living a distance from campus or juggling personal and professional responsibilities, the Flex DPT keeps you on track to earn your degree within an expanded time frame. Parking: Students are not permitted to park in the north, west, and south patient/ visitor/ staff/ faculty parking lots from 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Students that park in these lots will face a parking citation of $25.00. Students can park in the west and south visitor/ staff/ faculty parking lots after 5:00 p.m. Students are permitted to park in front of the main entrance for up to 15 minutes to deliver items to faculty/staff or pick up items.

Parking: Priority for parking access will be given to students who enroll in one of the Commuter Alternatives Program (CAP) options. Students with a valid parking access card are permitted to park in the Douglas Entrance Parking Garage, on the 10th to 12th floors from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. This policy is subject to change.

DPT Admissions Requirements

Requirements for admission into USAHS’ graduate PT programs include:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, either completed or in progress
  • An official GRE score report from within the past five years
  • A current resume
  • A statement of purpose outlining why you wish to pursue a career in PT, and specifically, a graduate physical therapy degree at USAHS
  • Prerequisite courses in health and social sciences, with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Two references, at least one from a licensed physical therapist
  • 80 volunteer, work, or observation hours in a clinical setting
  • A comprehensive background check and drug screening

DPT Florida Accreditation

The Doctor of Physical Therapy programs (both Residential and Flex formats) on USAHS’ campuses are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). Upon completion of the PT program degree, graduates of both Florida campuses are eligible to take the national licensing examination administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT). Although physical therapy students are responsible for meeting the field education and certification requirements of the states they wish to practice in, USAHS’ program prepares students for licensure in all 50 states.
