Dr. Blaise Bourgeois earned his Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where his dissertation investigated the construct of clinical bravery and its role in physical therapy practice. He previously completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy at University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He also completed a Manual Therapy Certification (MTC) to further develop his clinical expertise.
Before entering academia, Dr. Bourgeois served as a professional firefighter in Lafayette, Louisiana, for ten years. He later practiced in outpatient orthopedic settings throughout Austin, Texas, and founded BB Physiotherapy & Wellness in 2022, where he provides in-clinic and mobile care with an emphasis on manual therapy and dry needling.
Dr. Bourgeois has been a contributing faculty member at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences since 2018 and transitioned to a full-time faculty role in 2023. He currently serves as Course Director for Teaching & Learning, Clinical Reasoning & Communication, and Physical Therapy Tests & Measures, and contributes to musculoskeletal education across the curriculum.
