Dr. Brittani H. Freund, PT, DPT, PhD, SCS, ATC/L, is an Assistant Professor and Director of Clinical Education at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS) in Dallas, Texas. As a Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist and Certified Athletic Trainer, Dr. Freund’s professional background bridges academic leadership, clinical practice, and elite sports medicine.
Before joining USAHS, she served as Rehabilitation Department Manager at EXOS (formerly Athletes’ Performance), where she oversaw clinical operations, continuing education, and student mentorship. Her sports medicine experience includes serving as Head PT/ATC at a high-performance training center during the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Dr. Freund continues to serve as a medical volunteer for the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee and U.S. Figure Skating.
Dr. Freund earned her PhD in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University, where her research focused on concussion history, cumulative sport exposure, and neurocognitive outcomes in elite football players. She has multiple peer-reviewed publications, including recent work in the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy and the Journal of Physical Therapy Education, and has presented nationally and internationally on concussion management, dual-task performance and clinical education outcomes.
