Elvis Lopez, PT, DPT, EdD, MS

Dr. Elvis Lopez began his career in rehabilitation in 1997 as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and has since devoted his professional life to advancing clinical practice, education, service, and research. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Nyack College, New York, in 2000, a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Florida International University in 2004, and completed advanced manual therapy training through the Ola Grimsby Institute in California in 2006. He subsequently earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from A.T. Still University in 2008 and a Doctor of Education in 2018.

Throughout his career, Dr. Lopez has presented at state, national, and international conferences, including the 6th International Conference on Medical Education, Health Sciences, and Patient Care in Paris in 2025. His commitment to global health is reflected in his volunteer service in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake and 2012, and educational lecture in Central America with the Health Volunteers Overseas organization. Currently, he serves as a faculty member in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.

His scholarly interests include the integration of artificial intelligence in health professions education, the examination of disparities in medical literature and healthcare delivery, and the investigation of the relationship between substance abuse and musculoskeletal pain to enhance patient outcomes and evidence-based practice.
