Erica Ortiz has been a Clinical Educator at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences since the Fall of 2021. She received her undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders from Louisiana State University in 2003, and her master’s degree from the LSU Health Sciences Center in 2005. Her clinical background has been focused primarily on pediatrics, as she has provided services in a variety of settings (including home health, outpatient, and public schools).

Ortiz is a member of the American Speech–Language–Hearing Association’s (ASHA) Special Interest Groups on Telepractice, Administration, and Supervision. She considers it an honor to be able to shape the future generation of speech-language pathologists and strives to provide a supportive and collaborative learning environment for students’ clinical experiences.
