Dr. Khan-Farooqi graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with high honors in 2010. She completed internships at the internationally recognized Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Hospital in Downey, CA, and at the Occupational Performance Center associated at The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis (TRISL).

Following graduation, she worked at Children’s Hospital, New Orleans and then the Hand Center of Louisiana. She also worked in the Boston area at a large, multidisciplinary orthopedic practice as a lead therapist in an outpatient hospital setting and as an adjunct faculty member at MGH Institute of Health Professionals Occupational Therapy Program.

Dr. Khan-Farooqi has served on the board of the American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT) as the Practice Division Director, which oversees three working committees (Advocacy, Practice Management, and Federal and State Regulations). She volunteered with ASHT from 2013-2019 and has served in leadership positions including Vice Practice Division Director and Advocacy Committee Chair.

She joined the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences as a full-time faculty member in fall 2015 and was promoted to her current position in 2024.
