Dr. Megan Hutson began her career as a travel therapist working in acute care. Shortly after ending her first travel assignment, she found her passion for adult neurological rehabilitation. She has vast experience across the care continuum, working in the acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and home and community settings. She earned a Bachelors of Science from Colorado State University and her entry-level Doctor of Occupational Therapy from Creighton University.
She joined the University for Health Sciences as a contributing faculty member in 2025. Finding immense fulfillment in teaching, supervision, advisement, and student collaboration, she transitioned to core faculty in the role of Academic Fieldwork Coordinator that same year. Dr. Hutson has presented at AOTA Inspire Conference and TOTA state conference on topics including student success, interdisciplinary collaboration, and community reintegration following a neurological injury. She specializes in stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, amputees/prosthetics, and neuromuscular disorders.
