Michael (Mike) Boman, PT, DPT

Dr. Mike Boman, PT, DPT, MTC, serves as an Assistant Professor and Core Faculty member in the Flex Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS). An alumnus of USAHS, Dr. Boman earned his DPT through the Flex Program with High Honors, receiving the Outstanding Physical Therapy Flex Student Award. He completed his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science at the University of Central Florida and is currently a PhD candidate in Physical Therapy at Texas Woman’s University.

Dr. Boman brings extensive administrative leadership to USAHS. Prior to joining the core faculty, he served for three years as Program Director at Keiser University – Fort Myers, where he successfully led the program through a 5-year CAPTE reaccreditation and elevated two-year ultimate NPTE pass rates from 67% to 96%. He has also served as Contributing Faculty at USAHS since 2016, instructing in Gross Anatomy and Biomechanics.

Clinically, Dr. Boman owns a home-based physical therapy practice in Southwest Florida. His background includes sports medicine, outpatient clinic leadership, acute care, and skilled nursing. He holds credentials including Manual Therapy Certification (MTC), Dry Needling, Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), Blood Flow Restriction Training (BFRT), and vestibular rehabilitation. He also serves as Treasurer for Steps4Love, LLC, a non-profit supporting amputees.

Dr. Boman’s primary dissertation research centers on amputee rehabilitation, prosthetic prescription, and functional outcomes for individuals with limb loss. His broader research agenda encompasses lower extremity biomechanics, return-to-sport criteria, injury prevention, the neurological impacts of return-to-play and the clinical efficacy of advanced therapeutic modalities, including Dry Needling and BFRT.
