Dr. Paxton Burnside has been an Occupational Therapist since 2023, specializing in adult orthopedic and neurological rehab. Dr. Burnside worked in outpatient hand therapy, outpatient neurological rehab, as well as specialized in outpatient Parkinson’s care.

Dr. Burnside earned a B.S. in Human Sciences from Texas Tech University in 2020 and graduated with a Doctor in Occupational Therapy in 2023 from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Her Doctoral Capstone involved researching Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy’s impact with outpatient orthopedic populations, stemming from her own personal experiences with mental health hardships following an orthopedic injury in 2017.

Dr. Burnside is a strong advocate for mental health and wellbeing and loves the OT profession for its holistic lens. She transitioned over to academia in early 2026 as contributing faculty with USAHS and was promoted to her core faculty position as AFWC in Summer 2026.
