Lighthouse Alumni Award

At the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, our alumni are the best advocates, lighting the way to academic excellence for future students.

The Lighthouse Alumni Award Program offers USAHS alumni the opportunity to recommend exceptionally talented prospective students to enhance the quality of our entry-level occupational and physical therapy programs. Your referral helps us develop outstanding OT and PT practitioners with a calling to improve the lives of others.

Lighting the Way for Future Healthcare Providers

Referred OT and PT students who are admitted and enrolled with confirmation that program-specific admissions criteria are met and have attended classes past the add/drop of the first term, will be eligible to receive a $2,000 grant (paid to the University account toward tuition and fees). Students are limited to receiving this grant one time for their first term only.

How Alumni Can Participate

All USAHS degree-holding alumni can refer potential students. Referrals are limited to candidates for entry-level occupational and physical therapy programs (MOT, Flex MOT, Hybrid Immersion MOT, OTD, Flex OTD, DPT, Flex DPT).

  1. Incoming first professional Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy students for 2024 Summer and Fall Terms and all 2025 terms are eligible.
  2. Submit your referral prior to the student’s application using the USAHS Lighthouse Alumni Award Referral Program form.
  3. After completing the referral form, please have the referred student complete the form on this page to request more information.
  4. Referrals are valid until term start of the student’s selected term on their application. Referrals are not valid for students who are already enrolled in an OT or PT program at USAHS.
  5. The award is valid for referred students who apply, meet all program-specific admissions requirements, and enroll within one year from the time the meet all program-specific admissions requirements receives the referral.
  6. Spouses and children of USAHS employees are not eligible for this award.

There is no limit to the number of students that one USAHS alum can refer to the entry-level OT and PT programs, but each prospective student may only be referred once. Should a student receive multiple referrals, they will only receive one award.
