Community Clinic Now Open at St. Augustine Campus

Free Community Clinic Now Open at University of St. Augustine for Health Science – No Physician Referral or Insurance Required

Clinic hours: Mondays and Wednesdays, 12- 2PM, Room 102/104 at University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, 1 University Blvd., St. Augustine, FL 32086

Faculty members from the occupational and physical therapy programs at University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS) have partnered to pilot a new on-campus clinic that will treat adult patients from the community at no cost. The pro-bono clinic will focus on treating people who do not have access to, or health insurance to cover, PT or OT treatment for musculoskeletal issues, chronic pain, pain management, and degenerative conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease.  The clinic is managed by faculty and graduate students will have the opportunity to assist with treating patients.

Faculty collaborators who will be supervising students in the clinic include Dr. Todd Bourgeois, Dr. Garrett Mandel, Dr. Kaitlyn Cremer, Dr. Wynnet Sinclair, Dr. Steve Harper and Dr. Eric Chaconas; all faculty are board-certified PT and OT practitioners.

“We’ve had students participating in the free clinic through Wildflower Healthcare for a number of years, but this will be our first interdisciplinary clinic here on campus,” Dr. Mandel said.

“This is a great opportunity for PT and OT students to work together. A student from each discipline will conduct an initial evaluation of new patients and work in tandem to provide treatment,” Dr. Cremer said.

“We decided this would really benefit students while at the same time serve the community, so it’s a win-win for the university,” added Dr. Bourgeois.

Clinic hours: Mondays and Wednesdays through July 24, 12:00 – 2:00PM, Room 102/104 at University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, 1 University Blvd., St. Augustine, FL 32086.

If you are interested in making an appointment you can fill out a sign-up form located at the main campus reception desk, call (904) 770-3608 or send an email to [email protected].  Free valet parking is available for patients.
