University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences Florida Campus Celebrates Spring Commencement
The university celebrated nearly 200 physical therapy, occupational therapy and Doctor of Education graduates from 25 states and three countries across the institutionโs three campuses in Florida, Texas and California
St. Augustine, FL, April 28, 2016โ The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS) is proud to announce that nearly 80 graduates from the Florida campus in St. Augustine were presented with degrees at the universityโs spring commencement ceremony on Friday, April 15. USAHS is a leading graduate institution thatย emphasizes rehabilitative and health science education through innovative classroom education. The graduates were joined by family and friends as they received Doctor of Physical Therapy, Doctor of Occupational Therapy, Master of Occupational Therapy and Doctor of Education degrees.
The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences Florida campus in St. Augustine celebrated its spring commencement by presenting nearly 80 graduates with Doctor of Physical Therapy, Doctor of Occupational Therapy, Master of Occupational Therapy and Doctor of Education degrees.
The university also granted several prestigious awards to graduates who embody their programโs mission and attributes including professionalism, clinical reasoning, ethical standards and commitment to professional growth. The following are the recipients of the awards from the Florida campus:
Ray M. Patterson Scholastic Achievement Award
The Ray M. Patterson Scholastic Achievement Award is presented to an entry-level physical therapy graduate who has achieved the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA). Grades from both foundational science courses and professional courses are included in the cumulative grade point computation. The 2016 Ray M. Patterson Scholastic Achievement Award was presented to Bradley Chase Brigagliano from Malverne, NY.
Karen S. Howell Scholastic Achievement Award
The Karen S. Howell Scholastic Achievement Award is presented to an entry-level occupational therapy graduate who has achieved the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA). Grades from both foundational science courses and professional courses are included in the cumulative grade point computation. The 2016 Karen S. Howell Scholastic Achievement Award was presented to Chin-Hueng Tseng from Taipei, Taiwan.
Stanley V. Paris and Catherine E. Patla Award for Excellence in Manual Therapy:
The Stanley V. Paris and Catherine E. Patla Award for Excellence in Manual Therapy is presented in recognition of excellence in spinal and extremity manual therapy in professional physical therapy education to an entry-level physical therapy graduate. The 2016 Stanley V. Paris and Catherine E. Patla Award for Excellence in Manual Therapy was presented to Lauren Davis Shute from Ponte Vedra, FL
Outstanding Occupational Therapy Student Award
The Outstanding Occupational Therapy Student Award is presented to an entry level occupational therapy graduate who possesses characteristics most supportive of the programโs mission statement. These attributes include professionalism, clinical reasoning, ethical standards, and commitment to professional growth. The 2016 Outstanding Occupation Therapy Student Award was presented to Michelle Alyson Prichard from Tallahassee, FL.
Outstanding Physical Therapy Student Award
The Outstanding Physical Therapy Student Award is presented to an entry-level physical therapy graduate who possesses characteristics most supportive of the programโs mission statement. These attributes include professionalism, clinical reasoning, ethical standards, and commitment to professional growth. The 2016 Outstanding Physical Therapy Student Award was presented to Patrick Michael Berner from Metairie, LA.
