Dr. Jennie DiGrado, OTD on Good Morning San Diego

Some high profile celebrities suffered strokes in early March and USAHS faculty member Jennie DiGrado, OTD, was the live in-studio guest on Good Morning San Diego to discuss stroke prevention and how to recognize when somebody is suffering from a stroke.


Dr. Kristen Barta’s Article Accepted in Music Therapy TodayKristen Barta, DPT

Dr. Kristen Barta’s article titled, “Does A Customized Musical Song Promote A More Positive Experience Vs. Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation When Used To Enhance Walking For People With Parkinson’s Disease?” was accepted in ‘Music Therapy Today.’ Look for it in the July issue.

Congrats to Kristen for a job well done! This work was a product of her dissertation as requirements to complete her PhD at TWU in 2018.


USAHS at the Academic Excellence Symposium

Dr. Tammy LeSage, Dr. Margaret Wicinski, and Dr. Bill Ganza from the USAHS St. Augustine campus attended the 11th Annual Academic Excellence Symposium at Daytona State College on March 1, 2019. The theme of the symposium was Institutional Outcomes: Building Bridges to Student Success. The keynote presentation was by Jamie Casap, Education Evangelist at Google.


USAHS Faculty Featured in APTA’s “PT in Motion”

Two Flex DPT faculty, Dr. Scott Love and Dr. Angela Morgan, are featured in the “PT in Motion” March issue, a digest for members of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). In the article titled “The Journey of PTs with Disabilities: Challenges and Contribution” they share their personal stories as physical therapists and educators. Congratulations to Dr. Amy Walters and Dr. Germaine Ferreira for their publication in the Topics in Geriatric Rehabilitation journal (Jan-Mar 2019 issue) titled, “The Therapist’s Role in the Medical and Pharmacological Management of Heart Failure.”

USAHS supported the California Association of Nurse Practitioners Conference by attending the 42nd Annual Educational Conference, supported by the Nurses Service Organization (NSO).

The event took place March 14-17, 2019 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina. ​
