Dr. Gwen Morris has completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Central Florida (2009), a Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) degree from the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences (2011), and a post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) degree from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions (2017). She has certified as Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) in 2017 through the Hand Therapy Certification Commission and a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies in 2019. Previous professional experience includes outpatient hand therapy and lymphedema therapy, telerehabilitation, home health, and skilled nursing.

She has served as the vice president of the South Carolina Occupational Therapy Association (SCOTA) in charge of annual conference planning. Volunteer work includes supervision of occupational therapy students at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) CARES clinic for pro-bono clinic, level II OT student fieldwork supervisor for a variety of Universities, contributing editor of the American Society of Hand Therapists Times publication, blog writer for HandCare.org, clinical mentor of an entry-level Occupational Therapy Doctorate student Capstone project, and served the Board of Directors of Southeastern Institute Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program. She has presented research at the South Carolina Occupational Therapy Association’s annual conference in 2019 and will present at the American Society of Hand Therapist’s annual conference in 2020.

Teaching experience includes adjunct professor for Lenoir Rhyne University with their Master of Occupational Therapy program and Guest Lecturer/Facilitator with the Medical University of South Carolina.
